How to Install Artificial Grass (For Concrete or Tile Surfaces)

Equipment to prepare for Artificial Grass Installation

• Rubber glue or PU glue for artificial grass (PU glue is highly recommended for outdoor areas due to its excellent water and heat resistance)
• Tape measure
• Utility knife / Cutter (Do not use scissors)
• Seaming tape

(Artificial Grass Installation) Steps are as follows:

1. Start by unrolling the artificial grass and brushing it against the direction of the blades. Once properly brushed, the grass blades will stand upright, looking beautiful and natural.


2. Before the artificial grass installation, thoroughly clean the surface area and measure the dimensions of the space to be installed.


3. Lay the artificial grass mats onto the surface, ensuring all sections face the same direction.


4. Once the artificial grass mats are laid out, use a cutter to trim any excess grass by flipping it over and cutting from the backing in corner areas. (Avoid using scissors as they can accidentally cut and damage the grass blades.)


5. Flip up the edges of the grass sheets one side at a time, then place the seaming tape along the seam line of the artificial grass installation to join the two pieces together.


6. Pour the rubber glue or PU glue and spread it evenly across the seaming tape (be extremely careful not to get glue on the artificial grass blades) - Artificial Grass Installation Method.


7. Gently flip the grass pieces back down to join them together side by side. Check that the seam fits tightly and seamlessly along the entire line, then gently brush the seam area with your hands to blend the artificial grass installation lines in the same direction.

Artificial Grass Installation Method For Soil Surfaces

Artificial Grass Installation - Step 1
Upon receiving your delivered Greeny Grass artificial grass, you must unroll the rolls and let them acclimatize so they flatten out evenly after being rolled tightly. Place the grass on a hard, flat surface under the sun for approximately 45 minutes. Prepare the existing soil foundation with aggregate base stones using the following steps:

• Remove all existing weeds and natural grass down to the bare soil base.
• Lay the Geotextile fabric completely over the intended artificial grass installation area.
• Fill with aggregate stones to a height of about 5-7 cm, then compact it flat using a plate compactor (the precise stone height should be assessed based on site conditions).
• Level the surface with a sand layer, then compact it firmly once again with a plate compactor.

Artificial Grass Installation - Step 2
(Artificial Grass Installation Method) Define the layout lines to install the grass according to your desired shape. When laying down artificial grass mats, it is best to position them facing against the viewing angle looking into the yard. This makes the grass blades look more vibrant and colorful compared to laying them along the direction of the viewing angle.
Artificial Grass Installation - Step 3
The grass rolls have a standard width of 4 meters. If your area is larger, you will need to join two pieces together. To join them, use a 30 cm wide seaming tape along the entire length of the seam line. (Artificial Grass Installation Method) For the adhesive, use Greeny PU Glue mixed at a ratio of 1:5. Allow the glue to dry for at least 1 hour after installation. All equipment and the grass itself must be completely dry during the gluing process. Once the grass fully covers the area, use a large utility knife to trim off excess grass. It is recommended to rough-cut it slightly oversized during the first cut, then trim it precisely to the edge once the dimensions are completely verified. Glue should only be applied to the ground around the corners or edges of the artificial grass mats only.

How to Clean Artificial Grass

1. Indoor Cleaning Method (In the Shade)

• Step 1: Sweep: Sweep away loose dust or debris on the grass surface first to help the vacuum cleaner work more easily and effectively.

• Step 2: Vacuum: Vacuum along the same direction as the grass blades. This helps reduce dust mite accumulation deep at the base, pulls the blades upright to keep them looking lush, and extends their lifespan.

2. Outdoor Cleaning Method (Open Air)

• Step 1: Sweep away debris: Use a broom to clear away leaves, soil, or dust from the grass surface first.

• Step 2: Hose it down: Use a garden hose to wash away stubborn stains. You don't have to worry about water logging because it features drainage holes across the entire sheet, draining water up to 10 times faster.

Precautions

• Strictly do not smoke around the artificial grass installation area. Beware of open flames; this is absolutely prohibited.
• Be careful not to spill battery acid or other chemicals like grease or oil onto the artificial grass, as it can damage the lawn and cause discoloration.
• Do not use wire brushes on the grass lawn. If brushing is necessary, use a plastic brush instead.
• Wrap the legs of metal tables and chairs to prevent them from coming into direct contact with the grass. Sharp furniture legs may scratch and damage the grass.
